About the Collection
Project idea, Project creation and work by Elio Silva Rossel
Items are from the creator’s personal collection. All of the objects were bought from bookstores online.
This collection doesn’t pretend to reinvent the wheel. It actually serves as a useful tool for all historians and librarians who want to specialized in manuscripts and rare books, but who have difficult access to physical books of Roman classic works, especially in Spanish. The matching of both academic fields would contribute to the development of areas, such as Spanish Studies, Spanish linguistics, Classical Latin studies, Late antiquity history and librarianship. Likewise, the elaboration of this collection help to contribute to the expansion and variety of research sources of this particular historiographic branch. Finally, it serves as a reference or inspiration for future scholars who want to exhibit a collection of any academic field in different languages.
About the Platform
This site is generated using CollectionBuilder-GH, a project to create a free and simple digital collection using GitHub Pages from:
- a CSV of collection metadata
- a folder of PDF documents
For full details of creating your own collection site, visit CollectionBuilder Documentation!
Special thanks to Github and CollectionBuilder, that served as a platform to share my collection and convey my passion for classical history.
Technical Credits - CollectionBuilder
This digital collection is built with CollectionBuilder, an open source framework for creating digital collection and exhibit websites that is developed by faculty librarians at the University of Idaho Library following the Lib-Static methodology.
The site started from the CollectionBuilder-GH template which utilizes the static website generator Jekyll and GitHub Pages to build and host digital collections and exhibits.
